We recently spent the weekend in a cabin. On our first morning there, my son got up early, took the sheets off his bed, and pulled his clothes out of his overnight bag. Although the temperature outside was only about 50 degrees, he was ready for a hike! We were on the trail by 7:45 am and spent a leisurely 3 hours exploring and playing in the stream (and snacking, of course). It was the perfect day. No cell phones, no schedules, no chores to do. Just walking in the sunshine among the trees. I felt so at peace that I said to my husband, "I think this is what I was made for."
At the halfway point of our hike, we stopped at a bench, and my son got to work.
It was such a lovely spot, with views of the mountains across the valley. And a handsome man.
He could have stayed there all day, I think.
